Skipping the fact that management is rude, they really don't care about well being of the animals they selling!!! Since I never got the chance to handle the little guy (I told Marvin to give it a rest and don't bother since he is abusing the animal) I did not purchase it...
Customer service and management is horrible, i walked in there to get cat food and help about a return but there wasn't any managers around nor employees except an old women at the register. Definitely will not be shopping here at all! The Petco in whitemarsh looks better.
Came in with my partner to get a new hamster since we lost our little one couple days ago. We had eyes set for a big, brown teddy bear. We asked store AGM Marvin to assist us- he was ready to fill out paper work without letting us check if the hamster is healthy. When I stopped him and insisted on seeing the hamster he just said "You drop it, you pay it!". Well I asked him politely if he could at least try to put him in a box for us to inspect him and he made face and said "Fine!"... Then he put this glove on, violently waking up the poor creature... My heart broke into pieces as he attempted to pick the hamster up by squizeeing him and pressing his head against the glass instead of scooping the creature like you should do when handling such a delicate animal. When I addressed Marvin that he shouldn't be handling hamster like that he snapped at me saying that "Alll hamster are nasty before they warm up to you"... Well the problem wasn't in the hamster- it was in Marvin's behavior towards the little guy!
Horrible Place -The Manager Marvin Is A Sexual Predator. They Never Care for They Animals They Keep Them Dirty & The Cages Smell Horrible.The Managers Are Not Very Polite & Need To Find Another Job That Don’t Involve Being Social.I Bought A Rat From Them To Feed My Snake & Whatever They Gave The Rat To Eat Killed My Snake Bc It Ate Something Poisonous. Never Ever Shop Here Again

My significant other held that hamster earlier today (1.8.17) and the hamster was calm because he was handled properly by the lady working there during the day.
This place has everything for your pet, like very reasonably priced mobile immunizations, grooming, training and a huge variety of food and gifts.
Went looking for a guinea pig, conditions were deplorable. There was poop everywhere in the cage, and poop in their food as well. Wondering if these animals are even cared for properly. When we noticed the dead hamster in the other cage, we left.
