I utilize only two facilities here, GoodWill store and BCPL
Today there was a young man who was really sweet and doing everything he could to keep up with the line, but it was just overwhelming and no one came to help him. The other cashier even came up to do other things AND wait on a friend, then didn't offer any help for him or the customers and then went outside to smoke. Now this young man did everything he could, so it's not his fault at all, but there wasn't a lot of teamwork. I actually saw it happening the whole time I was there. He even handled a really difficult customer well when she kept trying to adjust things in a HUGE order and split it up so they would weigh different (which obviously wouldn't work).
The Kenwood Shopping Center also host the Rosedale Public Library which for me is the main attraction on that cite. There's a laundromat opened 8 a.m to 9 pm- last load accepted 8 pm. A Goodwill store, God's Little Angeles day care, Sea food carry-out.
I have been going there for 20 yrs and the have very convenient stores . Laundry to getting your nails, banking, library, eateries, daycare and drinks .
Otherwise this is a typical Goodwill been experience. Housewares and such are on one side and clothes on the other. There are large bins and everything is just thrown together, and then wheeled out. It's sad to see that some things aren't given any care, but I guess that's the nature this type of place. I found some books from the 1800s and they were dumped so the covers got completely torn. It's sad, but again, I guess that's what you get. If you have the time and the patience, you will find things.
Laundry mat is always clean and employees are very helpful. Library is great for kids. Goodwill is a great place to find a good deal.
